Zomba Catholic Secondary School is located around 5 kilometres (3 miles) from the old capital city's town centre.This is now a full private school founded in 1942 by the Catholic church. A community of Marist Brothers is located on site and the brothers help with the teaching and management.School fees is now MK680,000.00 per term .It is one of the best schools in Malawi and competition for entry is intense. The school has around 600 students and 36 teachers as well as several administrative staff. It is also well known as Box 2 and BOCCO (Boys Of Courage And Cooperation).

Initially, the school was partly sponsored by government and partly owned by the catholic church.Therefore,sellection was partly done by the Mamalwi National Examination body (MANEB) and partly by Catholic administration

In 2022,the school was declared to be independent,which means the Catholic church took full control of the school.From 2022 up todate,addimission into the school is stricktly through entrance examinations

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

The school believes in hard working.For students to survive,they have to maintain a 50% and above passrate.Students who have failed to meet such a requiremnet are withdrawn.Some who fail with a small margin are given a repeat

This helps the school to maintain the 100% passrate,no wonder it is one of the biggest institutions in Malawi
